It fascinates me how almost or maybe all of us use disempowering language in our everyday life. We use words like “I’m trying to”. I’m trying to lose weight, I’m trying to reach my goal, I’m trying to find work/life balance etc.
If you want to get to the 7th floor are you going to stay on the first floor saying “I’m trying to get to the 7th floor” or are you going to get on the elevator and ...push the button for the 7th floor? It’s the same with your goals/dreams/desires. Do you find yourself saying “I’m trying” when it comes to creating what you want or are you making commitments and taking inspired action? As a coach I help my clients listen to what they say and teach them to use more empowering language that gets results. Today I invite you to listen to your words. See where “I’m trying to” shows up for you. Let me know how it goes.
